In the year 2011, Ms. Pierrette Schanen opened her specialty store for optical services called “SCHANEN OPTIQUE” in Wasserbillig, right on the German-Luxembourg border.
With her over 35 years of professional experience, she manages the business with great passion and skill.
Where “SCHANEN OPTIQUE” is written, “SCHANEN OPTIQUE” is also inside! The second generation is already represented by Ms. Jil Schanen (Master Optician since 2021).
The team was expanded in the year 2014 with Mr. Christoph Lorenz, who is also a Master Optician and has over 24 years of professional experience.

During a visit, you will discover that quality and expertise go hand in hand here. In a relaxed atmosphere, over a cup of coffee, you can carefully select your high-quality glasses. You will receive professional guidance in choosing your quality lenses, and no question will remain unanswered.
Naturally, we also offer a premium eye test as part of our quality services.
As a craftsmanship-oriented business, we grind and fit your quality lenses into the corresponding eyewear frame in our own workshop.
Furthermore, we are pleased to assist you in selecting the appropriate contact lenses. We collaborate with multiple manufacturers to provide you with the best possible, comfortable product. For new customers, we also offer training for inserting and removing contact lenses.
Our product range also includes magnifiers (some with illumination) and numerous additional accessories, as well as prescription sunglasses.

We are at your service
Jil Schanen, the daughter of the managing director Pierrette Schanen, successfully completed her journeyman’s examination (DAP) with the Luxembourg Chamber of Crafts in 2015. She was trained by Master Optician Christoph Lorenz, who has been a part of the small family-owned business since the summer of 2014.
